My Rating: 5 stars/5
Synopsis: Kennedy Bennett comes from a long line of curse weavers. For centuries, her family has plied their trade in Unstable, Massachusetts, a quirky small town that’s welcomed paranormal practitioners since the dawn of spiritualism. Kennedy has recently struck out on her own, opening an antiques shop in Boston, where her speciality is uncursing and reselling hexed objects.
Then Aiden Connolly walks into her life with an offer she really should refuse. The scion of a wealthy family of luck workers, Aiden has a scheme to get his hands on the most famous cursed object of all: the mythical Necklace of Harmonia. He’s not the only one after the necklace, though. And he’s not the only one looking for a curse weaver to fix it. Kennedy’s sisters are kidnapped, she finds herself plunged into the underbelly of the magical world where even Aidan soon finds himself in over his head.
My thoughts from the Vault
Disclaimer: I received an audio ARC of this book. I chose to review it and this in no way impacts my opinion of it.
When I had the chance to listen and review the audiobook of Cursed Luck, I was ecstatic. It is no secret that I am a massive Kelley Armstrong fan so as soon as I finished my current audiobook, I dove in. As usual, I was not disappointed.
This novel has everything you could ask for. Magic, Curses, Kidnappings, Rescues, Romance… This book was interesting from beginning until the very last line. I could not stop listening and was looking for excuses to listen more. I’d never read a novel about curse weavers and luck workers so I found this to be an incredibly original read and so much fun.
Not only was the novel incredible, but I absolutely loved the narrator. Carly Robins did an absolutely amazing job and now I want to listen to more audiobooks she narrates.
This story began as an e-serial that Kelley Armstrong posted on her website during the first pandemic lockdown. I avoided the novel at that time because she stated it would be published so this was a first time listen/read for me.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
